The Resort Layout

The resort is made up of three phases, forming a U-shape that opens up to the beautiful Medano beach. As indicated by the site map, the ends of Phases 1 and 3 are located on the oceanfront; however, the unique formation means that while Phase 2 is slightly further from the sand it still offers breathtaking views of Land’s End and the resort’s gorgeous infinity pool.

Phase 1 faces southwest and features stunning views of the rock formation known as Los Arcos at Land’s End, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. The villas located in this phase get a great deal of afternoon sun, making them a fantastic choice for late sleepers, afternoon sun-bathers, and those who love the idea of enjoying a warm sunset with a cold drink.

Phase 2 despite being the furthest from the sand, offers some of the most spectacular direct views of Medano Beach, Land’s End, and the resort’s infinity pool. Each villa in this phase gets plenty of morning sun and is ideal for early risers and anyone interested in obtaining a true lay of the land.

Phase 3 faces southeast, features absolutely incredible ocean views, and is flooded with warm, natural light every morning. A small portion of Land’s End is visible from some of the villas and it is the closest phase in proximity to a spa that offers massage, body wraps, facials, couples experiences, and more!

Physical Location of the Villa

Contained within each villa number is a key to locating its position within the resort. The first digit tells you in which phase the villa is located, the second which floor it is on, and the third and fourth digits indicate how many villas it is from the oceanfront. For example, Villa 1301 is located in the 1st phase, on the 3rd floor, and directly on the oceanfront. Villa 3404 is located in the 3rd phase, on the 4th floor, and four units back from the oceanfront.

Although the same rules apply to the 1st and 2nd digits for the villas in Phase 2, each of these units is the same distance from the oceanfront, so the third and fourth digits indicate how far each villa is from the left, not from the sand.
For example, Villa 2504 is located in the 2nd phase, on the 5th floor, and 4 units to the right of Phase 1. The site map will further assist in identifying each villa’s location.

Floor Plans

The resort is conveniently located on Medano Beach (the swimming beach), less than a mile from downtown Cabo San Lucas; far enough away from town to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation, but close enough to easily take advantage of the great restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and activities.

Items such as lobster, T-bone steak, Kobe beef, or cognac are not available in the all-inclusive. All packages and prices can be requested through the front desk.
Yes. There is a poolside restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch. There is also an upscale restaurant with a daily dinner service.
The beachside restaurant has a wonderful pizza oven, a real treat for all. The deli, located in the mini-mall, offers great sandwiches, salads, desserts, some hot prepared foods, plus specialty coffee drinks and juices. There’s even an ice-cream stand. Cabo has many great restaurants.
We will be happy to provide our recommendations (and those of our former guests) when you book your reservation with us.

Yes. There is an executive fitness center and also a full spa. There is no charge for using the fitness center.

Yes, there are two private tennis courts and two additional courts at the adjacent resort (lighting available at a small charge).

Absolutely. You will be a guest of the owner of the Villa and may use all of the facilities at no charge.
There is a small charge for lighting the tennis courts at night. Additional costs would include spa services, food and beverages, and any activities you schedule. Please contact us with any specific questions.

The airport is at San Jose del Cabo (SJD). It is about a 40 – 45-minute drive. Please let us know if you would like us to prearrange transportation for you. Here are the current rates:

  • Shuttle service: The Community Shuttle is the slowest form of transportation to the resort, making several planned stops along the way.
  • “Regular” TAXI: Taxis are located at the airport but they take ‘the long way’ to the resort, via a toll road (maximum 5 passengers).
  • The private Suburban: (recommended) 7 passengers one-way Van: 10 passengers one-way Limo: 8 passengers.

When you reserve through the resort directly or another website such as Expedia or Hotel.com, one of the most common misconceptions is with regard to the one-bedroom unit. It is rented as a ‘hotel room’ when, in fact, there are no hotel rooms in the resort.

This ‘hotel room’ is comprised of a 2-bedroom, 3 bath condo, divided into two parts, Side ‘A’ (1 bedroom, 2 bath, kitchen, living and dining areas) and side ‘B’, known as a ‘lock-off’ (1 bedroom, 1 bath, with a separate entrance, 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed, depending on the unit).

This is often referred to as ‘The European Plan’ and the problem is both sides ‘A’ and side ‘B’ share a balcony, divided by a grass lattice screen.

A client renting through our website, Cabo La Estancia, will never need to share the balcony because we never rent out the ‘B’ side lock-off. We only rent the ‘A’ side, thereby, preserving your privacy. Other sites will not explain this fully and will rent both sides.

The benefits of reserving through Cabo La Estancia versus VRBO or other sites are significant:

  • When reserving through our website, you will always know which Villa you are renting – no surprises upon check-in. Cabo La Estancia monitors all units on a continual basis throughout the year and, therefore, will know which have been updated and upgraded and will separate the good from the bad.
  • Expedia, Travelocity, etc… These sites receive their inventory from the resort directly and operate as a hotel. Rates are typically much higher than reserving directly with us because these sites charge additional fees and taxes.
  • VRBO… While this site is a good resource for Villa owners, the downside for the renter is the lack of individual support; you are unable to speak to a live person prior to booking and VRBO assesses a fee at the time of rental. Many guests complain that when dealing with owners, directly, there is a lack of responsiveness.
  • Our rates are very competitive, if not the same as dealing directly with the owner and we provide live guest support 24/7 via one of our team members.
  • Our On-site Concierge Team is available to you prior to check-in and throughout your stay to assist with dinner reservations, private chef services, excursion reservations, and ground transportation referral
  • Our rates include all taxes, resort fees, and maid service – no surprises, no hidden fees
It’s not too late to speak with us about possibly securing a better rate!
For questions regarding a reservation made through Expedia, VRBO, Hotels.com, we, unfortunately, cannot view a reservation unless it was made through our office. You must contact the entity with whom you made the reservation or contact the resort, directly.
However, should you need restaurant reservations, ground transportation or assistance with excursions, please see the concierge information.
If so, we can definitely assist you. Contact us today!
Let us arrange a private tour of our available villas for sale. We will also share with you how to make your dream home pay for itself through our rental program.

Because we are independent of the Resort’s onsite Sales Office/Developer Team, we have other listings available within La Estancia and the Cabo San Lucas area. Many units are, often, quietly listed and can be negotiated for a better deal.
The rates we will quote to you will be total. There is no charge for using the fitness center, tennis courts, and high speed Internet access (within the Villa) and WiFi in the pool area. Additional charges would include food, beverages, spa services, telephone calls, or activities that you schedule.
No. Almost everything is within walking distance or a short taxi ride. The taxi fare to Cabo is currently $9/one way for 4 people (a small additional charge for more people). Taxis are readily available and are vans so they will seat a large group. Some people do like to rent a car, which is convenient for shopping, golf, and perhaps a side trip to Todos Santos. Free parking is available at the resort.
Yes. Medano Beach is considered the swimming beach in Cabo. The beaches on the Pacific side have surf that is too rough for safe swimming. Most of the beaches along the “corridor” (the area between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo) have significant rip currents and are not generally considered safe. There are some exceptions, but check this out if ocean swimming is important to you.

Our holiday accommodation at La Estancia, 3103, was elegant and authentic . We were greeted by our own personal concierge, Liliana. She was wonderful and helped us feel like we were part of her family. She helped us get a reservation at a great restaurant in town and set us up with an exciting jet ski adventure. The villa is spacious, clean, and having 4 bathrooms was perfect. The 2 Primary bedrooms each offered private jacuzzis for an extra special touch. It was also perfect to have a scheduled housekeeping service to ensure we has everything we needed. Also wanted to note that there was a pull out bed in the living room that we thought we needed but ended up not needing. We just returned and happy to say we are already booked for next year.

Fabulous space and location!!!

January 2020

The location of this Villa can’t be beaten, the view is perfect – and the resort is so close to town that you can walk there along the beach.

My family and I loved the Villa, we give it 5-stars and can offer nothing but positive remarks. The view couldn’t have been better! We were met with a welcome snack upon our arrival. It was great – we were all quite hungry after traveling so it was very much appreciated – perfect, thank you!

The bedrooms and bathrooms are roomy, as is the living space and kitchen. We loved all the outdoor seating – especially the lounge chairs! Having a private spa on the terrace is awesome and we loved the generously-sized dining table, too – we had a puzzle set-up on one end and could still seat our family for dinner on the remaining part of the table.

Samantha (our private concierge) was great, too, and made it clear she was there to help – we texted several times and she replied promptly.

We loved everything about our Villa and would surely stay there again!

Thanks for making it happen for us, Giovanni!

Villa 3101 from November 3-6 2019

November 2019

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Went for a quick 4 day vacation from San Diego to La Estancia, and it was outstanding. The villa is beyond anything you could imagine and is immaculate. The setting itself if lovely, with full views of the oceans, and trust me when I say the sunrises and sunsets are fabulous. Everything you need is right there, no need to make excursions out and about if you don’t want to. There is a little market on the premises, and the kitchen is full equipped.

We booked our trip with Giovanni, mailed checks directly to his Orange County office. We arranged transfers with Victors’ Transportation (which Giovanni hooks you up with) and scheduled and paid for services in advance (again…noting to worry about once we arrived). Victors’ was exactly where they said they would be. Prompt and courteous, with nice clean vehicles. Only thing required was a tip for the driver.

Once at the villa, check in was quick and easy. It’s a no cash resort, so you put a credit card on hold for all additional things you may use or need. Concierges were always available to answer questions. Most of all the smell in the lobby is heavenly…not sure what it is, but it’s wonderful to catch the sweet breeze when the doors open. Bell service was gracious and timely (as they hail taxis for your in town needs). I particularly enjoyed the humor and greeting we received from Juan Luis or maybe it was Jose Luis…a big jolly guy who has the greatest grin and best laugh ever!

Villa 3101 is about 25 steps from the pool and 1/2 a short block to the beach. The entrance to the beach area is guarded by Estancia staff, and the beach area where you sit, it roped off. The spa in the villa was great, just for our group, but we used the facility outdoor spa also, and it’s within 15-20 steps from the villa. The pool is stunning, clean with plenty of staff to take care of your needs. (Forewarning…you can’t bring your own snacks from the villa poolside).

As for restaurants on the premises, didn’t care for the “farm to table grill” place next door to Estancia, BUT the La Casona Restaurant is a MUST. It really was the highlight of our trip. So many great things to say about it…not enough room. Delicious food, impeccable service (Pasqual was our waiter/host, and he KNOWS his stuff). Broken English is everywhere you Spanish in a great asset to have, but you can do just fine without. Drinks were excellent. Just writing about it, makes me want to return!

We did have a couple of tiny problems that popped up, like the door to one of the bedroom wouldn’t open, but we called the contact number and it was fixed within the hour. Also the spa wouldn’t bubble at all, nor would it heat warm enough for our liking…so again, 1 phone call fixed the issue. Many of the staff have been there for 18-20 years, so rest assured, they are quite familiar with all the facilities. Certainly, nothing dampened our trip whatsoever.

SO, If you enjoy your time with the family, in your jammies, or just lounging around on the patio furniture, as if you were at home….this is your place. Financially it works out nearly the same as booking multiple hotel rooms, (praying they are all connected)! The entire process is simple and stream-lined, and there is no doubt in my mind that you will be equally satisfied with your stay there.
