Villa La Estancia Los Cabos View From Lobby
The resort is conveniently located on Medano Beach (the swimming beach), less than a mile from downtown Cabo San Lucas; far enough away from town to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation, but close enough to easily take advantage of the great restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and activities.
The resort offers a Basic Meal Plan PLUS full access to the mini-bar in your villa as well as 24-hour room service (gratuity not included). Items such as lobster, T-bone steak, Kobe beef, or cognac are not available in the all-inclusive. All packages and prices can be requested through the front desk.
Yes. There is a poolside restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch. There is also an upscale restaurant with a daily dinner service.
The beachside restaurant has a wonderful pizza oven, a real treat for all. The deli, located in the mini-mall, offers great sandwiches, salads, desserts, some hot prepared foods, plus specialty coffee drinks and juices. There’s even an ice-cream stand. Cabo has many great restaurants.
We will be happy to provide our recommendations (and those of our former guests) when you book your reservation with us.

Yes. There is an executive fitness center and also a full spa. There is no charge for using the fitness center.

Yes, there are two private tennis courts and two additional courts at the adjacent resort (lighting available at a small charge).

Absolutely. You will be a guest of the owner of the Villa and may use all of the facilities at no charge.
There is a small charge for lighting the tennis courts at night. Additional costs would include spa services, food and beverages, and any activities you schedule. Please contact us with any specific questions.

The airport is at San Jose del Cabo (SJD). It is about a 40 – 45-minute drive. Please let us know if you would like us to prearrange transportation for you. Here are the current rates:

  • Shuttle service: The Community Shuttle is the slowest form of transportation to the resort, making several planned stops along the way.
  • “Regular” TAXI: Taxis are located at the airport but they take ‘the long way’ to the resort, via a toll road (maximum 5 passengers).
  • The private Suburban: (recommended) 7 passengers one-way Van: 10 passengers one-way Limo: 8 passengers.

When you reserve through the resort directly or another website such as Expedia or Hotel.com, one of the most common misconceptions is with regard to the one-bedroom unit. It is rented as a ‘hotel room’ when, in fact, there are no hotel rooms in the resort.

This ‘hotel room’ is comprised of a 2-bedroom, 3 bath condo, divided into two parts, Side ‘A’ (1 bedroom, 2 bath, kitchen, living and dining areas) and side ‘B’, known as a ‘lock-off’ (1 bedroom, 1 bath, with a separate entrance, 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed, depending on the unit).

This is often referred to as ‘The European Plan’ and the problem is both sides ‘A’ and side ‘B’ share a balcony, divided by a grass lattice screen.

A client renting through our website, Cabo La Estancia, will never need to share the balcony because we never rent out the ‘B’ side lock-off. We only rent the ‘A’ side, thereby, preserving your privacy. Other sites will not explain this fully and will rent both sides.

The benefits of reserving through Cabo La Estancia versus VRBO or other sites are significant:

  • When reserving through our website, you will always know which Villa you are renting – no surprises upon check-in. Cabo La Estancia monitors all units on a continual basis throughout the year and, therefore, will know which have been updated and upgraded and will separate the good from the bad.
  • Expedia, Travelocity, etc… These sites receive their inventory from the resort directly and operate as a hotel. Rates are typically much higher than reserving directly with us because these sites charge additional fees and taxes.
  • VRBO… While this site is a good resource for Villa owners, the downside for the renter is the lack of individual support; you are unable to speak to a live person prior to booking and VRBO assesses a fee at the time of rental. Many guests complain that when dealing with owners, directly, there is a lack of responsiveness.
  • Our rates are very competitive, if not the same as dealing directly with the owner and we provide live guest support 24/7 via one of our team members.
  • Our On-site Concierge Team is available to you prior to check-in and throughout your stay to assist with dinner reservations, private chef services, excursion reservations, and ground transportation referral
  • Our rates include all taxes, resort fees, and maid service – no surprises, no hidden fees

Because we are independent of the Resort’s onsite Sales Office/Developer Team, we have other listings available within La Estancia and the Cabo San Lucas area. Many units are, often, quietly listed and can be negotiated for a better deal.
The rates we will quote to you will be total. There is no charge for using the fitness center, tennis courts, and high speed Internet access (within the Villa) and WiFi in the pool area. Additional charges would include food, beverages, spa services, telephone calls, or activities that you schedule.
No. Almost everything is within walking distance or a short taxi ride. The taxi fare to Cabo is currently $9/one way for 4 people (a small additional charge for more people). Taxis are readily available and are vans so they will seat a large group. Some people do like to rent a car, which is convenient for shopping, golf, and perhaps a side trip to Todos Santos. Free parking is available at the resort.
Yes. Medano Beach is considered the swimming beach in Cabo. The beaches on the Pacific side have surf that is too rough for safe swimming. Most of the beaches along the “corridor” (the area between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo) have significant rip currents and are not generally considered safe. There are some exceptions, but check this out if ocean swimming is important to you.

We just wanted to share our happy experience as buyers, which will complement the seller’s comments that are tagged on this blog, below.

In September, we purchased Penthouse 3502 and the experience with Giovanni and his real estate team was a really a great one. Normally, real estate transactions in Mexico can be fairly difficult to navigate but, in this case, all things went really smoothly thanks to Giovanni’s efforts.

Oops, he did it AGAIN! After 18 years of ownership at VLE, with all of our kids growing up, it was time for us to sell our 2nd and final unit. Giovanni got Villa 1103 sold in short order. His communication skills, knowledge of his product, professionalism and friendly disposition are just a few of his amazing assets. Gio managed the phases of our 1st and now 2nd Los Cabos, Mexico vacation home sale. He went above and beyond the normal phases of listing, staging, showing, managing offers, inspections, and closing. Gio sold both 1102 and 1103 due to HIS diligence with all the facets needed for a quick sale in a not so desirable market for a seller.

A belated email to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in the Panoramic ocean front Villa 3401. As promised, it was fabulous and made our stay for our son’s wedding that much more special! The decor and location were fabulous and is was very comfortable. We had extra help from Jesu and friends, who bar tended, cooked and help to clean up after our families party at La Estancia. They could not have been nicer and so helpful with all the condo details.

We so enjoyed having Estaban & Lucas transport us roundtrip from the airport, with the extra stop at Costco. They are great guys and very pleasant!

Amazing house for a friend's getaway!!

My friends and I took a trip to Cabo for my birthday and we couldn’t have stayed at a better place!! Upon arrival Oscar came to our villa and made us guacamole and salsa! We even asked him to come the next morning to cook breakfast for us for my friends birthday and he came and cooked in the villa for us and did dishes and cleaned and everything. The house keeper decorated for me and my friends birthdays and left a little cake for us! The location is amazing for access to the pool and beach. Just a walk down the beach to great restaurants and hang outs like The Office and Mango deck. Rick was very helpful with any questions we had even when we were at the villa! Rooms were great and everyone slept really well on the beds!! Would recommend this place to families or groups of friends! Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday weekend!!

It was so convenient being on the first level so we had walk-out access to the beach and pool instead of having to walk down long hallways and use an elevator. This was the 2nd time we have stayed in Villa 1103. The first time was 4 years ago. Our favorite thing about this particular villa is the location. Because the back patio walks out to the pool and just a few yards to the beach…we were the gathering place for the 7 families traveling with us and all staying at La Estancia. The beds were comfortable. It is perfect for two families traveling together. We used the kitchen and appliances, as well as the washer and dryer. Everything was great! Our TV was able to get all the NCAA basketball games during March Madness which was a plus to all 7 families! We would definitely request this villa again. We took advantage of the spa, the fabulous concierge services at the resort and walked to town every night for dinner-fabulous food every night!! We love Cabo because of La Estancia!

Hi Maggie …sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Yes I returned fresh and relaxed–but ..wow. Were we thrown right back into reality fast-3 degrees in New York when I landed…..but that’s why vacation is such great escape. My family and I had such a great time–we absolutely love Cabo–I can’t wait to get back….I didn’t go to any restaurants off your list -but we did go to Maria Jimenez for first time and loved it. Also-Marie and I managed to escape kids for few hours and caught a sunset at Sunset Mona-Lisa. New Year’s Eve we rented a boat and went into harbor for fireworks–amazing time. We relaxed on the beach, my boys and I did some fishing(caught some fish).As far as Estancia–Resort is Top of the Line.. Absolutely beautiful. Everyone so nice and helpful, especially concierge Arianne and Sebastian.

The resort as always was wonderful. The woman and I forget her name (She was the one with the glasses who was there in the early morning helping guests set up) was very helpful each day. she greeted me and helped me get set up for the family by the pool each morning.

We went to Flora Farms for dinner. it was very good and should be added to the list. A recommendation is to go a bit early to walk around. Also, have Victor’s transportation arrange to drive back and forth. they waited for us while we were there. Flora Farms advertised some cooking classes in the morning that included lunch as well. next time we are going to try one of those. tell people to make reservations in advance via their website.

The Villa was beautiful and very comfortable for our family of four adults. Many upgrades and nice touches throughout, including a well-stocked kitchen, bar, and wine refrigerator. The nicest touch was being greeted by Maggie, who showed us to the Villa, and presented us with homemade pica de gallo, guacamole, and fresh margaritas! This a true gem by the sea, and we will definitely be back!

We just returned from a wonderful week at Villa La Estancia #1302. The place exceeded our expectations and the layout was perfect for my husband, 2 daughters & nieces.

We were greeted in the lobby by Maggie who works for the owner and who had our groceries waiting for us and helped us get settled in. She had margarita’s & chips & guacamole ready when we entered the villa. It was a very nice touch and much appreciated.

The villa was very clean when we arrived, it was spacious with the living/dining room separating the 2 large bedrooms. The huge balcony was the best part, overlooking the gorgeous pool area and out to the ocean & Arch rocks. We never got tired of laying on the comfortable chaise lounges and listening to the waves & looking out at the view.

The owner was extremely helpful & responsive. He answered our questioned in a timely manner and graciously allowed us a late check out.

The grounds were beautiful and the service was top notch. It’s definitely US prices at the resort, so don’t expect “deals”.

The beach is beautiful in front of the resort and is swimmable for someone comfortable in the ocean, but there is a severe drop off in front of the villas that creates bigger waves and makes it tricky to get out of the water if you don’t time it right. If you walk down the beach toward the marina, the shore is much gentler and better for beginners.

All in all, it was a very relaxing trip and we loved the unit we were in. We would recommend it and go back again if the opportunity arises.

Villa was beautiful. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Gorgeous views, wonderful food, very clean resort, and kind guests. I do wish I had knowledge from someone to make reservations at restaurants before I arrived. I also was looking for evening activities at the resort for my teenage boys-there were none. I still give FIVE STARS.

We all had an OUTSTANDING time at Villa La Estancia! The hotel & staff were awesome, especially Lupita & Noel. We also had Samantha work with us & she was incredible. 11 Days & not one complaint.

My girlfriends and I were just here for a bachelorette party this past weekend…absolutely amazing! The Villa is Clean, Comfortable , and everyone is so nice! Easy access to the Pool and Beach! Would come back anytime!
